the golden markets are a permanent fixture of the west of taliesin: along with permanent stalls selling silks, jewellery and handmade goods, bright tents and pavilions stocking seasonal produce appear and disappear. the golden markets are a riot of colour, half under the eves of half-baroque warehouses, half sprawling between them and out through into memorial courtyard, which surrounds the massive opalescent statue of an ancient king. there are buskers and hawkers at every corner and the pungent aromas of street food waft everywhere. although well policed, the markets do move vats amounts of stolen and counterfeit goods.
