Even before the fae arrived, the "Valley of the Rain Forest Giants" was a jungle of magnificent proportions, and one of the wettest areas in the country. The ancient looking forest is covered in giant spruce, fir, and redcedar trees, while tendrils of green, moist moss cling to the bark and drip down from the branches. Burnt red and golden loam covers the forest floor, and clear springs of fresh water dribble along small streams and waterfalls. Giant ferns and large leaved plants mix in along the ground, and the air is hot and humid. The villages here differ greatly from the great forest cities of the cascades; with delicate looking tree houses covered with moss and wichita grass homes weaved from fern. Both humans and fae live in these small, scattered towns, where technology is rare but existent. Even so, the culture differs slightly, and humans are treated on more equal terms then in Taliesin proper.

No New Posts mount olympus

The tallest and most prominent mountain in the olympic wilds, mount olympus has undergone a geological shift since the fae arrived, into a semi-active volcano. Snow and giant glaciers still cover the peaks, but steam and ash occasionally rain down on the area below. Close knit, foggy and snowy forest trails down the mountainside towards a small town at the mountain's base. Called Olympus Rest, the town is seclusive and superstitious, wary of travelers and strangers. They believe the mountain forest haunted, and in the years that the town has existed a number of strange and mysterious deaths and accidents have taken place. The townsfolk also spread stories of a rumored time dragon that sleeps at the heart of the volcano, dreaming the world into existence.

No New Posts ceridwen

The coastal potrion of the wilds is a rugged, sandy beach with a strip of adjacent forest, framed by tall rocky cliffs. Ceridwen is a fishing town built out from the beach that stretches into the ocean, held up by docks built from forest driftwood and a new form of sprawling, intricate white coral that somehow survives the northern temperatures. Made from driftwood and iron, the salt blasted buildings are hardy and so are the people. Massive and colorful fish swirl in the waters beneath the town, and most revenue comes from it's fishing industry. Boats with tall white sails made from the forest trees sail into the harbor and bring in trade from other areas, while seabirds dive from the moss and algae covered cliffs.

Board Description
olympic wilderness
the wilds have grown to cover most of the olympic peninsula and what was once a national park has swallowed almost half of the state. vast temperate rain forest, in places seeming impossibly ancient, breaks against the high, rocky cliffs of the north coast. to the east, golden valleys and dry mountain ranges border taliesin and snow capped, glaciated mountains harbor small, rough villages and trading posts. it's wilder then the east, and it shows in the people here: in the architecture and how they live close to the land. superstition and tradition have strong hold over the west: there are fewer cities left than on the other side of the cascades and the villages are small and half-absorbed by the forest, and taliesin law does not extend as far as it would like.
