quinault rainforest
Even before the fae arrived, the "Valley of the Rain Forest Giants" was a jungle of magnificent proportions, and one of the wettest areas in the country. The ancient looking forest is covered in giant spruce, fir, and redcedar trees, while tendrils of green, moist moss cling to the bark and drip down from the branches. Burnt red and golden loam covers the forest floor, and clear springs of fresh water dribble along small streams and waterfalls. Giant ferns and large leaved plants mix in along the ground, and the air is hot and humid. The villages here differ greatly from the great forest cities of the cascades; with delicate looking tree houses covered with moss and wichita grass homes weaved from fern. Both humans and fae live in these small, scattered towns, where technology is rare but existent. Even so, the culture differs slightly, and humans are treated on more equal terms then in Taliesin proper.
